Free Eurolectures for young people

As part of the activities of the Center for Youth Information and Development and the Eurodesk Lublin Regional Information Point, we invite all primary and post-primary schools, as well as university students and other interested parties to participate in Euro lectures, workshops and educational games led by a regional Eurodesk consultant.

All meetings have one main goal: to raise awareness of what Poland's membership in the European Union entails for the young people of our country. The lessons are developed in accordance with the principles used in all Eurodesk information activities:

  1. the principle of giving the same information regardless of who gives it and to whom;

  2. the principle that Eurodesk is the first but not the last source of information;

  3. the principle of free of charge for the information provided.

The goal pursued by the creators of the Eurolekcja was their objectivity and impartiality. The presenters of the classes do not persuade, encourage or value anything. Nor do the lessons serve to discuss or chat about the European Union. They are “information products” given in an accessible form and attractive setting that broaden horizons, make you think and encourage you to continue looking for information. The lesson plans touch on many problems and issues, but do not explore them in depth, and the classes themselves have an interactive, workshop form. They engage young people using specially developed materials (texts and games) and gadgets.
The classes are also possible to conduct online.

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of specific meetings and make appointments by phone or email.

Classes offered:

Eurovolunteering
The lesson is devoted to social work abroad. Volunteering in another country is a way to gain new skills, make interesting friends, test yourself in difficult situations, and brush up on your foreign language.

Eurostudies
Going to universities in Europe is still often seen as an offer for the primes or the very wealthy. This is not true.

Eurowork
The lesson “Eurowork” takes up the topic of employment in the European Union. It shows what to pay attention to before going to work in the EU, how to prepare, what to do to avoid dangers when working in another EU country.

Euroactivation
The aim of the class is to encourage young people to become active. To show that it can take different forms, and each of them is valuable. The workshop also makes them aware that activity - if it has a social dimension - can be earned.

Europrojects
Freedom, money and information - these are the three interrelated keywords of the most frequently conducted Eurolekcja from the repertoire of Eurodesk Poland.

Educational game “Time to Move”
An international educational game about Europe for senior elementary school students. It encourages learning about the countries of the old continent with a fever of attractive and diverse tasks. Players answer questions, compete in duels, play puns. In the game counts not only a good orientation in such areas as culture, politics or geography, but also reflexes and imagination.

Educational game “Eurochances”
Here is a game that will irreversibly expand your horizons and change your perspective on the future. Get to know the world full of opportunities ! Get to know the offer of the European Union ! Get to know your Eurochances !

“Eurochances” is a board game about various forms of mobility in Europe and activities. Thanks to it you will learn how to go abroad - for internships and apprenticeships, for studies, for volunteering, you will see how to organize local and international projects, learn about grants, scholarships and competitions for young people. All the opportunities - nearly forty in all - that you will encounter during the game really exist.
The game is designed for high school students.
It takes at least 90 minutes to complete.

Educational game “Figure it out”
The game is a tool for social consultation with young people! It was created as a new tool for social dialogue with young people at the local level, as well as at the European level (structured dialogue). Players gain knowledge, compile data, work in teams, negotiate, create innovative solutions. They have a chance to learn about social problems from all angles and from the perspective of different sectors.

One game of “Figure it out” is to solve one problem (there are a dozen to choose from). Each problem consists of a separate set of cards: problem card, sector cards, library cards, media card and risk cards. Players play in teams competing against each other for resources, knowledge, data. They design competing solutions, which are scored by a jury (teachers, or facilitators) by the objectives of sectors met, library cards held, number of risk situations survived, and criteria such as consistency of solution, creativity, approach, ethics, etc.

Workshop Papers for Careers
The “Papers for Careers” workshop teaches students how to find their way in the labor and education market, learn about their weaknesses and strengths, and effectively present their qualifications.

Students analyze their competencies and discuss the usefulness of documents that confirm these competencies. During the course of the class, they learn in depth and analyze the documents that make up the Europass portfolio. They learn how to fill them out and find out why it is useful to use them when assessing and presenting their skills and qualifications to potential employers.

Youth has a voice workshop
The workshop is designed to encourage participation in the European Parliament elections, but is not propagandistic in nature. They are intended for young people aged 16-19.

They introduce the activities of the only commonly elected EU institution, show the decision-making process in the European Union, provide an opportunity to discuss European values and the impact of the Union on their daily lives. At the end, participants consider what the Union can do for them, and what they can do for the Union. The workshops are held in the year coinciding with the EP elections.
